Meet the Kuffels

Stace and Brett.jpeg

We're Brett and Stacy Kuffel—and yes, we know exactly what our initials spell.

In fact, once we realized it, there really wasn't another name this place could have.

We're a Wisconsin family building a life that doesn't always look particularly polished from the outside. There are chickens underfoot, projects scattered everywhere, food cooking in the kitchen, animals requiring something, things being built, things being broken, and usually at least one of us asking, “What the hell are we doing now?”

And somehow, we wouldn't have it any other way.

The BS Way of Farm Life isn't about pretending we've figured out the secret to a perfect life.

We haven't. Not even fucking close.

It's about working hard for the life we want. Growing and making more of what we can. Cooking food worth gathering around. Creating things with our own hands. Trying ideas that may or may not work. Loving our people fiercely. Laughing when things go sideways—and getting back up when life knocks the absolute hell out of us.

We're building this business the same way we're building our life:

One project, one ridiculous idea, and one questionable decision at a time.

Stacy

The dreamer, creator, cook, designer, planner, professional squirrel chaser, and the woman most likely to turn “You know what would be cool?” into six new projects before lunch.

BS Way grew from an idea she once shared with her daughter Katelyn, and she's the force determined to see that dream become something real.

If there's food to experiment with, something to design, a garden to plan, merchandise to make, or another completely reasonable piece of equipment to purchase, she's probably already working on it.

Brett

Co-owner, husband, resident voice of reason—when anyone bothers asking him—and the man who married Stacy without apparently reading the fine print.

He's the muscle behind plenty of the projects, the woodworking side of what's coming, and the person most likely to get recruited into a new BS Way idea before he's been fully informed of what he's agreed to.

He also firmly believes shop stools should have wheels.

We don't know why this became important enough to mention on our website. It just did.

And Then There's Rae

Raeanna is growing up right in the middle of all this beautiful chaos.

She's learning where food comes from, what hard work looks like, how to care for animals and the land, how to create things with her own hands—and, probably most importantly, that big dreams don't have to stay dreams.

She's the future of The BS Way.
